Hewlett-Packard

Principal Writer
February, 2005 - July, 2006

Hewlett Packard is renown for its hardware, but is also one of the foremost suppliers of enterprise-wide network management software in the world. In the 18 months I was at HP, I worked as principal writer for OpenView Network Node Manager 8.0 where I was responsible for designing and developing the QuickStart Deployment Wizard, Installation Planning Guide, Root Cause Analysis Guide, and the Getting Started Guide. NNM is the leading application for managing global networks.

Prior to working on NNM, I was principal writer for OpenView Performance Insight, an application that collects data and reports on past network performance and detects future trends and potential bottlenecks and outages. I worked on the OVPI Administrator's Guide and significantly reworked the OVPI Installation Guide.

At Hewlett Packard we used Framemaker, WebWorks Pro, and Adobe Acrobat as the primary tools for developing documentation.
